Waboba: Rewild

WABOBA

Return To Your Natural State

Waboba created the world’s first plant based line of toys and we got to help with their launch by creating a series of videos.

the client

Waboba began in Sweden in 2005 with the invention of the original "ball that bounces on water." To this day, they have been committed to creating unique, fun products that change the way you play.

objective

Our goal was to create a launch video for their new line of toys coined: Rewild. The Rewild line is eco-friendly and powered by plants (jute plant and rubber tree). Given that the products are plant based, we knew we wanted to incorporate our beautiful earth into the concept.

our role

Outlive Creative was contracted to lead creative / story development, pre-production, production, and post-production.

responsibilities

Creative / Story Development

Concept creation + script writing.

Pre-Production

Sourcing talent, location scouting, organizing crew, obtained film permits, develop shoot logistics.

Production

Shooting, directing, location sound, lighting.

Post-Production

Sourcing music, editing, color correction, sound design.

Photography

Lifestyle and product images used for branding, lookbook, social media, and website.

Project Management

Oversaw the production end of the project to ensure the visual content would be delivered on time and within budget.

story development + pre-production

The concept was simple: escape the hustle and bustle, keep life fun, and get outside. Return to your natural state and have less impact on the world so future generations can enjoy the earth as much as we did. We wrote the script, developed the concept, designed the storyboards.

production days

This film production consisted of 1x full day and 2x half day shoots. Part of the main shoot day was spent capturing urban content in the city and the rest of the day was up at the mountain to shoot the outdoor content. A half day was spent capturing playful content on the coast and another half day to capture content with the 2 kids.

timeline

Despite having a full blown pandemic happen right before we were scheduled to shoot, the playful nature and concept for this project wasn’t overlooked. The project was able to wrap just before 2021 and Waboba launched the content at the start of the new year. Everything fell into place and the timing ended up being perfect.

deliverables

The deliverables included 1x 90 second brand video, 3x 6 second social snackbites, 3x 15 second social media cutdowns, and a collection of photos.

The script

“There was a time when life was more simple. When agendas and the internet didn't control us. The sky was the limit, and boundaries didn't stop us, because the whole world was our playground. There used to be more time to notice our surroundings. And rather than recognizing our differences, we saw a playmate. Someone to share life experiences with. Adventure and excitement fueled us then. Wonder and awe made us feel like we could conquer the world. Disconnecting to reconnect made us feel alive. Days felt longer. We played until the sun went down, because we wanted that feeling to last forever. For us, the world was and still is our playground. It's where we go to return to our natural state. Our mission is to protect it so future generations get to experience and enjoy it as much as we do.”
