story development + pre-production

We created a handful of concepts in collaboration with Derek Gaumer Photography. Together we drafted a Road Trip Itinerary with planned locations, talent, and activities along the way. Our “National Park Tour” adventure shoot consisted of 9 separate shoot locations mapped between Oregon, California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado.

There was a lot of moving parts during this project and pre-production turned into a BEAST. The extra time spent planning the shoots was definitely key in making sure we didn’t miss any shots.

production days

The road trip adventure shoot consisted of 9 locations and 10 production days. The shoots were of different outdoor activities such as; surfing, hiking, exploring, rock climbing, bouldering, stand up paddle boarding, and long boarding.

Stop 1: Surfing in Pacific City, OR

Stop 2: Exploring in Samuel H. Boardman State Park, OR

Stop 3: Sunrise hike in the Redwoods, CA

Stop 4: Rock climbing, bouldering, and SUPing in Lake Tahoe, CA

Stop 5: Surfing in Pacifica, CA

Stop 6: Exploring Joshua Tree National Park, CA

Stop 7: Trail running in Saguaro National Park, AZ

Stop 8: Hiking in White Sands National Park, NM

Stop 9: Exploring Great Sand Dune National Park, CO

timeline

The concept development and pre-production stages took about 4 weeks from fruition to hitting the road. Production was shot over a timespan of 10 days. Post-production took around 3 months to complete.

deliverables

The project included a total of 13x video deliverables and 105x photos. We created a 1 minute overall video with script and 12 social ads ranging from 6-20 seconds.

Website Refresher

From the content we produced, Ka’Chava was able to refresh their entire website with our photos and videos. The top header banner includes footage we shot on the road trip and our photos are sprinkled throughout the rest of the site.

Distribution

Ka’Chava has a separate ad agency who handles all of the distribution of the content.
